We have an opportunity for a Safety Practitioner to support our Air Traffic Management (ATM) Systems Team. Our aviation clients are demanding support in a variety of both traditional and ground-breaking areas, which require a diverse range of experience with an understanding of Systems and Safety Engineering in the broadest sense. Osprey’s Safety Capability offers a range of independent and unbiased advice in engineering, technical and strategic advisory services to a wide breadth of markets and clients.
As a Safety Practitioner you’ll deliver complex and detailed safety assurance across a wide range of high value, complex programmes and projects, across both civil and military domains. Your skills will be employed to achieve safe solutions, which ensure operational capability and achievement of regulatory compliance.
Your role will include the development of safety assurance arguments from concept through to operational entry into service and providing safety critical advice to our high-profile customers. The Safety Practitioner will work on cutting edge civilian and military aviation projects and supporting the future growth of our Safety Capability.
What’s needed for this role?
A civil aviation professional with a sound and demonstrable safety assurance background. Experience of air safety and writing safety assurance documentation is essential for this role as well as exposure to CAA regulations and/ Ministry of Defence regulations. The Safety Practitioner should understand safety critical systems engineering and have a good awareness of the civilian aerospace. We would also like experience/skills in the following:
- The ability to lead the safety process, undertake hazIDs and manage safety risk.
- Excellent communication for engagement with our client, the client’s workforce, and the CAA.
- Systems engineering process to understand requirements flow, test, and acceptance strategies.
The ability to influence and communicate well with exceptional writing skills are essential for this role. You’ll be professional with a good understanding of the aerospace, defence, and wider markets to provide guidance and direction in the development of safety solutions for our clients.
