Osprey wins new contract to provide Safety Assurance for the Remote Tower Solution at RNAS Predannack

Osprey, a tpgroup company, has been awarded a new contract by the Royal Navy (RN) to provide safety assurance services for the Remote Tower Solution at RNAS Predannack. Built in partnership with Saab, the new digital remote tower will be the first of its kind to be introduced to UK Armed Forces and will be installed this year.

As the RN’s chosen safety assurance provider for the remote tower project, Osprey will deliver a robust suite of safety assurance and acceptance deliverables for the Remote Tower Capability (RTC) in support of the ultimate ambition of a fully endorsed, certified and operationally capable system by April 2022.

Remote Tower technology is being utilised worldwide within the civil aviation industry, and Predannack RTC will be the ‘first of type’ for the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD). As such it provides an opportunity to exploit innovation and industrial enhancements to create a more agile workforce, savings in infrastructure and enhanced safety for air systems.
