Osprey CSL Acquired by TP Group
Osprey CSL is delighted to announce that, after a 6 month acquisition process, it has today sold its entire share capital to TP Group plc (tpgroup), the specialist services and engineering group and a global leader in consulting, digital solutions and engineering services across defence, space and energy programmes.
As a tpgroup company, Osprey expects that the acquisition will bring significant benefits to our existing and future clients across the civil and defence markets. We will immediately benefit from clear synergies within the Group in delivering specialist consulting, project management and software services to the highly regulated and safety-critical civil and military markets, enabling Osprey to provide an enhanced offering. The acquisition will also enable significant growth in new and emerging markets including unmanned aircraft, carbon neutral aviation and a growing space launch capability in the UK.
Osprey will become a subsidiary organisation within tpgroup as part of its existing consulting value stream. Existing and future clients will therefore benefit from Osprey’s continued technical excellence but with the support of the Group and its other members. As such, the Osprey Management Team will remain largely unchanged and will continue to lead and oversee Osprey’s activities and operations. Peter Giles, Founder & Chairman of Osprey and David Fisher, a Non-Executive Director, have both taken the opportunity to step down at the point of sale to begin their retirement.
Jon Arden, Founder and Managing Director at Osprey said “Since 2006, Peter and I have been fortunate to work with some wonderful people (clients, partners and colleagues). We’ve loved building Osprey into what it is now and must pay tribute to the help and support we’ve had along the way. It was always part of our business plan to join a larger organisation in order to continue to meet our growth ambitions and potential. Twelve months ago, we identified that the time had arrived and we are absolutely delighted that Osprey is to become a part of tpgroup. Today is the culmination of many things and we should and will celebrate that. However, it is also the start of a new chapter for everyone at Osprey, one filled with opportunity that will enable us to continue to meet our ambitions.
For some time now, Osprey has not been a small company; with this acquisition we will well and truly leave those clothes behind and develop a new Osprey, one that continues to offer the personal service which our clients have grown to trust and value but allied to the breadth and depth of offering that only large Companies can match. We have already recognised that tpgroup shares many of our values and we believe our clients and friends will see immediate benefits in this new alliance. Whilst I am excited for the future, I must also pay tribute to my business partner of 14 years Peter Giles and our outstanding NED David Fisher, both of whom are taking very well earned retirement. We will miss them both but will see them often for beer and memories.”
Peter Giles, Founder & Chairman at Osprey added “As the Co-Founder and Chairman of Osprey it has been thrilling to watch it grow steadily and prosper. I firmly believe its people are second to none and offer a truly excellent capability, but most importantly they are just great people to be with. The acquisition of Osprey by tpgroup provides a catalyst to develop the organisation and its people and further unleash Ospreys’ potential.
So, while my retirement from the business and the personal prospects that brings are exciting, I will continue to follow the fortunes of this great organisation.”
