Osprey celebrates #PurpleLightUp Day

Scroll

Today, Osprey is proud to join our parent company, tpgroup in support of #PurpleLightUp which is a global movement that celebrates and draws attention to the economic contribution of the 386 million disabled employees around the world. This movement is led by PurpleSpace to help celebrate the UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPWD) which takes place annually on 3rd December.

To demonstrate our ongoing commitment to inclusive recruitment practices, Osprey is signed up to the UK Government’s Disability Confident scheme which encourages employers to think differently about disabilities and to improve how they recruit, retain and develop disabled people, as well as play a leading role in changing attitudes for the better.

As a disability confident organisation, we have made 5 core commitments:

  1. Ensuring our recruitment process is inclusive and accessible
  2. Communicating and promoting vacancies through a range of channels
  3. Offering interviews to disabled people
  4. Anticipating and providing reasonable adjustments as required
  5. Supporting existing employees who acquire a disability or long term health condition, enabling them to stay in work.

Being a disability confident employer allows us to remove barriers and select and attract the very best candidates from the widest talent pool within our industry. By coming together on a global scale to support #PurpleLightUp, Osprey is proud to support an environment where disability is properly represented on the business agenda and the barriers to work for disabled people are removed for good.
