RiverOak Strategic Partners (RSP) has recently announced that the Development Consent Order (DCO) for Manston Airport has been accepted by the Planning Inspectorate for further examination. This is an important milestone in RSPs endeavours to revive Manston Airport as a successful and profitable airfreight hub.
Osprey has contributed to various aspects of the DCO application, using our extensive experience to ensure that all of the aviation aspects submitted were compelling and robust. This included expert advice on the full range of airport activities including flight procedures, airspace development and airport operations together with the development of airport infrastructure, navigation aids and regulatory compliance.
Osprey was also commissioned by RSP to conduct a number of highly specialist studies into specific aspects of the proposition including the use of Remote Tower technologies and the re-siting of existing infrastructure as part of this extensive airport construction project. Due to the long lead times associated with certain activities, work will begin immediately on a number of enabling projects, including an airspace change proposal to the Civil Aviation Authority.
