Osprey has won a new contract with Marshall Aerospace Defence Group to procure Navigational Aids (NAVAIDS) and Surveillance Systems for Cambridge International Airport (CIA) as part of their ongoing plans and to accommodate developments planned both on, and near, the airport.
The scope of this comprehensive procurement package includes an Instrument Landing System (ILS) with Distance Measuring Equipment (DME), a replacement Primary Surveillance Radar (PSR), the addition of a Secondary Surveillance Radar (SSR) and a replacement Radar Display System.
Using award-winning expertise in managing such procurement activities, and working closely with CIA, Osprey will conduct the procurement in accordance with the Public Procurement, England and Wales Regulations and the Utilities Contract Regulations 2016 within the Official Journal of the European Union.
Doug Fidoe, Principal Consultant at Osprey explained “Osprey has extensive experience in the specification, procurement, regulatory approval and integration of Air Traffic Control (ATC) equipment. We are genuinely independent from any solution or solution provider, which was a critical factor in our suitability to work with CIA to advise on the applicability of procurement options.”
Planned developments on the airfield are expected to influence both the equipment location and the project timeline. To ensure a successful outcome, Osprey will adopt a phased approach including system delivery and safety assurance towards the end of the procurement process.
