We’re in Madrid this week for the World ATM Congress. Here are just a few examples of our recent work that we’ll be discussing with the ATM industry.
Client: Airbus
We’re providing a safe separation assessment of the Zephyr-S Unmanned Aircraft (UA). Referred to as a High Altitude Pseudo Satellite (HAPS), Zephyr-S is capable of flying and operating up to twice the altitude of commercial aircraft with a mission endurance of greater than a month.
Our role is to develop the strategy for the safe airspace integration of the Zephyr-S and contribute to the overall systems safety case. This represents unique and cutting edge challenges from an Airspace, Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Safety perspective, which must all be overcome to ensure that Zephyr-S can be inserted into international airspace.
Client: RiverOak Strategic Partners (Manston Airport)
We are currently conducting a feasibility study into the use of Remote Tower technologies as part of the Manston Airport Project.
Our study will consider the feasibility of providing both visual services and/or radar services for Manston from a third party location. The results will significantly inform how Air Traffic Control (ATC) services will be delivered at Manston Airport.
Client: Civil Aviation Authority
We’re developing a baseline position for Small UAV’s. Our detailed review and report will feed directly in to Government policy as well as influence European and International policy direction for Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS).
This has given us great insight into UAS/drone operations and we have advised a number of organisations on how they might safely deploy this exciting new technology.
