Project and Programme Management

Scroll

Osprey’s Project Managers will bring experience, knowledge and pragmatism to your most complex tasks. Although many of our staff hold professional Project Management qualifications, we follow an internally developed methodology, aligned with industry best practice, that will be proportionate to the scale of the project undertaken. We will plan the project in detail, manage risk and communicate effectively with you and your stakeholders as and when necessary.

Osprey can provide a full project management service to meet your ultimate project aim and objectives or assist your project managers whilst developing key artifacts under your direction.

Our practical experience, gained from managing many important aerospace projects will help to de-risk your programme whilst, at the same time, we develop a strong and healthy working relationship with your team and bring clarity and focus along the path to successful implementation.

The team at Osprey were outstanding in their approach to our project and throughout the timeline the team were fully supportive with their communication and interaction.

The output from the team proved to me that they deliver high quality pieces of work.

As part of the overarching aviation safety case for MARS Tanker, Osprey were requested at very short notice to provide independent safety assurance for the new to service Kelvin Hughes ATM radar. The task was agreed and completed within a week fully meeting Project expectations and timeline enabling the ATM case to progress to the regulatory acceptance phase on time.

Osprey’s expertise and specialist support have allowed Defence Equipment & Support to develop with confidence the equipment safety and airworthiness framework for the introduction of the A400M to service with the Royal Air Force. At a critical time in the aircraft’s life cycle, Osprey provided a principal consultant to cover the responsibilities of the Safety Manager and dedicated support to develop the Platform Safety Assessment.

The A400M PT has relied heavily on the professional commitment and specialist knowledge of Osprey consultants to develop and implement a credible Safety Management System and to mentor full-time members of staff joining the Project Team to positions where they are competent to hold a Letter of Airworthiness Authority. Consistently, Osprey has added significant value to the A400M Project and has a key part in the governance and assurance of A400M equipment safety and airworthiness.

A400M Safety Manager, DE&S, MOD

Osprey has been contracted by my department since March 2014 to develop, author and maintain the Platform Safety Assessment (PSA)/ Safety Case for the UK Fleet of 22 A400M aircraft.  They have consistently demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of the A400M Type Certification Basis (TCB) as well as the various Defence Standards and Regulatory Publications that are appropriate to A400M.  Their work has been completed to the highest standards and they have offered my team flexible and pragmatic solutions to some very complex problems.  I would have no hesitation in recommending Osprey to any future organisation within the Air Safety and Airworthiness arena.

To help find an acceptable interim mitigation for a proposed Wind Farm, LSA approached Osprey as recognised leaders in Wind Turbine Mitigation methods. As part of their remit Osprey reviewed the potential capabilities of the local radar as well as other mitigation technologies in relation to the anticipated turbine effects and our Operational Requirement. Based on their assessment of the available solutions, the local airspace environment and the demanding project timescales, the use of a Non Automatic Initiation Zone (NAIZ) was proposed.

Osprey subsequently developed the Radar Sensor Safety Case to include the NAIZ and supported LSA through the subsequent discussions with CAA SARG. As a result of these discussions the NAIZ was accepted into operational service prior to turbine operation.

The solution has subsequently worked well and has proven itself to be the right decision for the mitigation of the Wind Farm.

I would readily recommend Osprey to any ANSP seeking supportive and informed assistance in establishing mitigation of Wind Turbines on Approach Radars.
