Through our work in the civil and military sectors, we have extensive experience in ensuring and enhancing business performance and resilience which means we can apply a range approaches and techniques to your specific challenges.
Through the delivery of robust procurement activities, business analysis, detailed costings, and business modelling, we can ensure that your operation, equipment or system and the business processes that underpin them, are as efficient and resilient as they can be.
Osprey have managed procurement competitions for equipment, services and capabilities ranging from small-scale individual products to multi-million pound multi-year service provision contracts, and thus is able to deliver a robust yet cost-effective solution to your procurement needs.
Our Business Analysis will seek to deliver the efficiencies, savings, and increased resilience that the client requires. As an independent aviation consultancy, we have no affiliations or commercial associations which would influence our analysis or recommendations; we will go where the evidence and analysis takes us – and that is always in your best interests.
Due Diligence
Making investment decisions in renewing equipment, purchasing a consented windfarm, or developing new technologies requires a deep appreciation of the economic, technological and schedule risks and opportunities.
At Osprey, we have been trusted with due diligence studies on major capital investment in windfarm radar mitigation technologies or airport investment, assessments of risks associated with a major programme of work and identifying the risks associated with reaching final investment decisions for multi-million pound investments such as off-shore windfarms, airport developments or the introduction of new technology or operational concepts.
We can support you in the following areas:
- Due diligence on market opportunities for radar mitigation
- Identification of risks in discharging aviation planning conditions
- Prepare route maps for implementing aviation solutions
Performance Improvement
Every organisation strives for operational efficiency and effectiveness. Inefficiency can sometimes creep into an operation over a period of time, or suddenly materialise as a result of a change in the operation itself or the environment around it.
The Osprey team has many years of experience from a diverse range of viewpoints that can challenge the operational “norms” and work with you. Whether you are looking to develop processes to achieve maximum productivity whilst meeting all regulatory requirements, or seeking to incorporate anticipated future developments within the aviation domain, we can support you in the following areas:
Process Audit:
- Air Traffic Control Training
- Air Traffic Control Competency Scheme
- Safety Management System
- Statistical analysis to identify areas for improvement
Operational Analysis
Every organisation strives for operational efficiency and effectiveness. However, sometimes it’s difficult to see “the wood from the trees” when systems have been in operation for many years. Or perhaps you are facing a major change, such as the introduction of new technology or concepts, which will impact operations.
We offer an independent assessment of a wide range of aviation related operational processes, which considers current and future, local, national, international and regulatory requirements, with an aim of ensuring conformity and improving effectiveness taking into account financial constraints.
We can support you in the following areas:
- Gap Analysis
- Development of interim procedures to cater for infrastructure changes
Impact assessments of:
- Infrastructure works
- Adverse weather
- Local building development planning applications
Helicopter Operational Support
The use of helicopters to support day-to-day operations is widespread across a diverse range of industries including Defence, Search & Rescue, Law Enforcement, Infrastructure Inspection, Offshore Windfarm Support, Sightseeing and Private Executive Travel.
Although the use of helicopters is routine, the operational challenges of utilising helicopters, the different civil and military activities that may be undertaken, and the overall airspace and environment in which a helicopter operates, all need to be carefully evaluated, planned and managed in line with the latest regulatory standards. This is particularly the case when a helicopter is being used in a new environment or to complete a new task.
At Osprey we have an extensive portfolio of successful rotary wing projects under our belt, having assessed a wide range of parameters unique to helicopter operations. These include airflow assessments, development of Helicopter Main Routes (HMR’s), helipad safeguarding and the development of innovative helideck operational procedures at offshore installations. We can also apply new airspace concepts such as ‘Point in Space’ (PinS) approaches to enhance operational effectiveness.
We are highly experienced in the provision of safeguarding solutions for both existing and proposed helicopter landing sites, with particular expertise in the assessment of potential obstacles and the production of Aerodrome Safeguarding Maps that accord with specific regulatory criteria.
We are able to apply our expertise to a wide range of aerodrome types, ranging from single helipads and grass airstrips to large international airports. We can support you in the following areas:
- Feasibility Studies & Planning Support
- Safeguarding Solutions
- Safety Assessment & Advice
- Regulatory Compliance
- Airspace Management
- Obstacle Limitation Services
