Newcastle International Airport
Business Need
Newcastle International Airport were seeking to procure a new Primary Surveillance Radar (PSR). In addition, they were seeking to procure a new Radar Display System and a technical solution(s) that supported the Airport’s wind turbine mitigation strategy.
Needing to meet some challenging timescales, Osprey worked in partnership with the Airport to develop the necessary requirements documentation that would contribute to the overall procurement activity, which was to be completed under the OJEU process.
Our Role
After conducting a detailed requirements workshop we developed a framework of objectives that were further cascaded into the User Requirements for the Project.
Working closely with the Airport, and using our extensive experience from similar Projects, we developed a set of system requirements for each of the core components of the replacement surveillance system that could be issued to prospective Tenderers.
The system requirements added further granularity and detail to the User Requirements Document, but also included a comprehensive suite of requirements that recognised:
- Applicable UK and International legislation and regulation
- Civil works
- Security
- Project Management
The Outcome
We delivered the resultant requirements documents within limited timescales, in support of the procurement process, and received excellent feedback from the Airport on the comprehensive nature of the work.
