Steve joined Osprey in 2010 following a successful career in Air Traffic Control in the RAF. Specifically, Steve spent two years embedded within the MOD Safeguarding Team at the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) where he analysed the effects of wind energy developments on RAF ATC radar and operations.
Steve is a Wind Energy Subject Matter Expert and is responsible for completing independent operational assessments of the potential effects of wind turbine developments on ATC and Air Defence radar systems, obstacle limitation surfaces, instrument flight procedures and navigation beacons based on his extensive knowledge of UK Flight Information Services and ATC rules and procedures.
Since joining Osprey, Steve has had success in supporting clients in achieving planning consents for a significant number of offshore and onshore wind energy developments and other infrastructure projects. Additionally, he has a broad understanding of windfarm operational and technical mitigation capability and can provide guidance regarding its potential application to resolve identified effects.
