Pete SymonsTeam Leader - Platforms & Air Systems
Pete is an experienced chartered systems engineer and airworthiness and safety practitioner with extensive knowledge of civil and military certification including the MRP, Def Stan 00-970 and civil certification codes on a wide range of fixed wing, rotary wing air systems and UAS. He is also an experienced Aerospace Battle Management (ABM) safety practitioner with a detailed understanding in the application of the MRP 3000 series and related defence standards.
Pete has substantial experience of developing aircraft certification artefacts (to standards such as ARP 4761 and ARP 4754), C4ISTAR, safety management systems, civil and defence regulation and policy, defence standards and procedures, bowtie analysis, Adelard ASCE, system of system, equipment / air system safety cases, Independent Safety Audit and advisor roles.
Pete leads the team responsible for delivering Platforms & Air Systems projects for Osprey. He is also the technical lead on many of our safety projects including the Voyager Operating Safety Case, Mode 5 IFF certification support and Offshore Helicopter safety support to Ørsted. As an experienced tutor, he has developed and delivered bespoke training courses, with particular emphasis on Safety Management and Airworthiness for both Manned and Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
