Nicole SaundersPrincipal Consultant
Nicole is an experienced Project Management and Safety Engineering professional. She joined Osprey in 2016 following a 16-year career as a Fast Jet Weapons Systems and Trials Management Officer in the Royal Air Force.
Nicole provides safety, project management, aircrew and procurement support to project and delivery teams within Defence Equipment & Support, and in partnership with our commercial aviation customers. She provides specialist safety advice to offshore wind farm projects to inform the development of the Concept of Operations, and regularly advises on the impact of regulatory changes introduced by the Military Aviation Authority. In addition, she was responsible for developing the Bowties for the High-Altitude Pseudo Satellite loss of safe separation arguments.
Nicole has experience of preparing expert witness reports, conducting safety assurance assessments for senior leadership teams and developing Headquarters-level air safety policy. A qualified physics teacher, she also develops and conducts air safety training.
She has a Masters degree in Human Factors & Safety Assessment, and another in Aerospace Systems, and is experienced in developing Bowties, conducting and reviewing accident and incident investigations, and promoting and assessing a positive safety culture within high-reliability, high-consequence organisations.
In 2018, Nicole was recognised in the ‘Top 50 Women in Engineering’ list, compiled by The Telegraph and the Women’s Engineering Society (WES).
