Osprey supports DE&S Safety Day at Abbey Wood

Scroll

Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S) is hosting its annual Safety Day on 20th June 2017 across all of its main sites. The focus of the event will be to demonstrate DE&S’s commitment to safety at all levels throughout the organisation, to promote its safety culture and to emphasise key safety messages.

As part of the programme, DE&S has invited key industry partners, including Osprey to contribute to the day through a series of presentations and exhibitions all geared towards sharing best practice and lessons learned in the safety arena.

This year, Osprey has chosen to support the theme ‘Commitment to Preventing Errors’. As part of the main conference sessions, our Bowtie specialist Nicole Saunders will present an introduction to Bowties and how they might be used to encourage more of ‘what goes right’, and provide greater resilience when undesirable events emerge.

Pete Symons, Military Systems Team Leader explained “Safety is at the heart of everything we do at Osprey. We’re really pleased to be taking part in this event and have the opportunity to share our expertise in Bowtie modelling with DE&S staff to support more effective risk management.”

Osprey currently works with a number of DE&S and defence industry clients in the provision of safety engineering, airworthiness and operational support. This includes airworthiness and safety support to air platforms, aerospace battle management and command and control systems to the development of methodologies to use resources more efficiently and safely.
