Osprey Consulting Services Ltd (Osprey) has been supporting GoBe Consultants (one of the leading providers of services to the offshore wind energy sector) in the delivery of the Hornsea Project Four Offshore Wind Farm (HOW04) Development Consent Order (DCO) application on behalf of Ørsted Hornsea Project Four Limited. We are delighted to announce the successful delivery of the DCO application to The Infrastructure Planning Inspectorate (PINS). The PINS Examination closed on 22 August 2022. There will now be a period of three months for the Examining Authority to write its report and make a recommendation to the Secretary of State (SoS). The SoS will then have three months in which to make a decision on the application.
As lead aviation consultants, Osprey has provided strategic advice and delivered technical assessments which included radar line of sight analysis, stakeholder liaison strategy and management, preparation of the Technical Report, the Preliminary Environmental Information Report (PEIR) and Environmental Statement for aviation for inclusion in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). Osprey also provided relevant support through the DCO examination process for this Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP HOW04 will be located, at its closest point approximately 69 kilometers (km) off the Yorkshire Coast, in an offshore area of up to 492 km2. HOW04 will consist of up to 180 wind turbines that could be located adjacent to the operational Hornsea 1 and 2 Offshore Wind Farms, and the previously DCO consented Hornsea 3 Offshore Wind Farm.
